The coloring in these 5 Sonoran turquoise stones is breathtaking. This cuff measures approx. 1 1/4” wide and 5 1/4” along the inside end to end with a 1 1/8” gap. Stamped by Artist A. Jake and stamped sterling.
Sonoran turquoise comes from the Campitos mine located outside of Cananea, Sonora, Mexico. The unique thing about Sonoran turquoise is the way that it is mined. While most turquoise is found in veins in the mine, Sonoran is unique because it is often found in clay deposits as nuggets. The mine has been in production since the 1980’s and produces beautifully colored Sonoran turquoise consisting of striking green coloring with brown matrix. Traces of pyrite can be found in some stones, adding the perfect pop of sparkle!
