White Buffalo is a beautiful white stone with fine black spider web, somewhat blotchy matrix. It is formed from the minerals Calcite and Iron, and is classified as turquoise although it is lacking copper in other turquoise stones. Turquoise is classified by its elements, such as copper aluminum phosphate, which gives it the blue colors. The White Buffalo turquoise has been questioned at times because of this in its classification. But the White Buffalo miners, Danny and Dean Otteson, say that like turquoise, it lies in veins surrounded by black chert. ” Until someone can prove differently, we’re going to call it white turquoise from the White Buffalo mine,” Otteson says. This white turquoise can only be found in one mine near Tonopah Nevada. With the ages, this turquoise will be debated. But in the end, it is such a beautifully bold stone that makes a statement with its black and white colors so rare, they can only be found in one area of the world. Artist Stamp Ella Peter. Pendant is 6 cm in length. Fits Navajo Pearls up to 8 mm. (Sold Seperatley)
